5 Common First Date Mistakes
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 12:01AM
First dates are full of expectation and angst. Each party comes to the table with a wish list and a deal breaker list, and throughout the course of the date, both the man and the woman are going through their checklist as they size each other up. It’s good to be aware of some common first date mistakes so you don’t wind up on someone’s deal breaker list. In this video I discuss the following 5 common mistakes:
1. Talking Excessively About Yourself
2. Talking About Your Ex
3. Being Negative or Sarcastic
4. Lacking Basic Manners & Social Skills
5. Immediately Asking For A Second Date
I hope you enjoy my video and wish you the best in dating!

Thank you once again for your insight and guidance. The last woman I met in LA, I asked for a second date before my first had ended. Thankfully I guess I missed the first four mistakes as she did take me up on the offer of a healthy walk followed by some wealthy retail therapy! I have to say the third date will never ever be forgotten. I just hope mistake number 5 didn't undo my chances of date number four and more. Keep the advice flowing, the men out there may finally start dating the women that deserve the men that hide behind these first date blunders!
Number 5 on the list is an interesting one. I have read articles that encourage men to initiate a second date if things appear to be going well. Oddly enough I recently went out with the first woman since my long-term relationship ended about a year and half ago that I am really interested in getting to know... not only did she ask me out, but initiated a second date about half way through. Great advice as usual.
