Another year is drawing to a close and I can’t help but be pleased with myself when I look back on 2011. A lot has happened personally and professionally. I knocked two things off my bucket list: going to the Australian Open and going to Wimbledon. I also published my first novel, acquired nearly 4000 Facebook friends, made a few awesome new girlfriends, and dated some pretty decent men. Real contenders. That’s why you didn’t hear me bitching too much about my terrible dating life. I don’t write about the good ones. I just blog about the fuckers who deserve it!

I also took a two-week mandatory vacation to Kauai (doctor’s orders—I love my doctor!). It was the first two-week vacation I’ve had in over 20 years. Now I understand why people take vacations. To unwind, but also to stop running for a moment, take in your environment and see if you like where you’re headed. Or, to see if you're just running in one spot.

Sexy Shoe Diaries - Part 13

You may recall from when I used to just post my shoes on Facebook, that I also have these in purple. These strappy silver snakeskin heels are perfect for New Year's Eve. And, I think that's when I'm next wearing them.  

I got them at the Jimmy Choo factory outlet in Cabazon (near Palm Springs) last spring for 70% off (or more... it was ridiculous). I had to buy two pair.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

The jury is hung on whether I've been naughty or nice this year. I'd have to say its been about a 50:50 split. But, I'm hoping that Santa will still bring me some toys... whether they come in the form of jewelry, clothing, electronics or battery-operated bedroom devices. 

But, even if my stocking is bare, I am giving myself a little gift this Christmas in the form of time off from talking about sex, dating, relationships, love and infidelity. Time to be faithful to myself for about a week with a little quality me time.

Sexy Shoe Diaries - Part 12

Ho, ho, ho? Most certainly not. These Guiseppe Zanotti metallic silver boots with cream mink trim are hot but not slutty—unless of course you put them with a skin tight silver dress. But, really, who would do that? Oh, I forgot where I live for a moment. If you're going to Aspen for a ski date, these would be the perfect boot to wear to dinner! 

I bought these babies in Vegas at the Zanotti store in Caesar's Forum Shops and it took me years to garner enough self-esteem to wear them. Now they are one of my winter favorites. Last year I got a silver Burburry coat to go with them, so these babies won't be going on Ebay anytime soon!

The Benefits Of Being A Jew At Christmas

This year Hanukkah and Christmas have a major overlap. Hanukkah runs from sunset on December 20^th through sunset on December 28^th. While there is a song about the 12 days of Christmas, it’s primarily the 25^th that’s celebrated. On some continents the 24^th is the big day.

Despite there being 8 days of Hanukkah, the focus this time of year is on Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and nasty food like fruitcake and eggnog. What part of the egg exactly is the nog, anyway? Even though they fall at the same time of year, Hanukkah is really over-shadowed by the big fat guy in the red suit with his reindeer. You can even hear the sound of the dreidel spinning under the cacophony created by those sleighbells ring-a-linging. I have a little dreidel…

The Condom Thing

What is it with men that they will stick their dick in pretty much anything without a cover and without a thought? I’m often asked when is it okay to discuss the condom thing.  Really? The condom thing? You mean, the “do you trust me enough that I won’t give you an STD” thing? In my opinion, it is never appropriate to discuss the condom thing, because most men (and women) are completely naïve about STDs, their transmission, symptoms and frequency of occurrence.

Did you know, for example, that due to Los Angeles’ prolific porn industry there is a specific California strain of Gonorrhea that is resistant to strong antibiotics such as Levaquin and Cipro, which used to knock pretty much everything out of the park. Since men, women, and diseases know no geographical boundaries, that same strain of the clap can also be found in New York, Chicago, and pretty much every other city in the world—the occurrence rate still being somewhat higher in California.
